ABOUT US

Megan Atol, RN BSN IBCLC

Founder

Megan has been a Registered Nurse for over 10 years, working in Labor and Delivery as well as postpartum. In 2019 she sat for her board exam in lactation to become a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Since then she has sought out extra training in the areas of oral function and habilitation, completing the IBCLC masterclass. She offers specialized plans of care in oral function and habilitation for babies with tongue, lip, and/or buccal ties.  She also completed AOMT's myofunctional program to become a Myofunctional Therapist in an effort to expand much needed services to the Tehachapi community,

She has a passion for supporting mothers in their feeding journeys by offering hands on support and education tailored specifically for them and their baby.

The Motherhood Collective is a 501c3 nonprofit organization offering supportive services to local moms and their babies.  Our goal is to provide a space for expecting and new moms to have access to evidence-based education programs, peer-to-peer support groups, and relationship fostering social gatherings.  We believe healthy women make healthy communities. We offer a warm and inviting, safe space in town run by Registered Nurses (RN) & International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC). Services include private infant feeding consultations, group classes, and community events for pregnant and new mothers.

Megan was able to see me almost right away when I was having clogged duct issues. She was so helpful in educating me and helping me with my mastitis. She gave me amazing tips on what I can do to prevent it from happening again. But most of all there was absolutely no judgement, so kind, and easy to talk to. I highly recommend the motherhood collective to moms needing guidance during motherhood.

I had such a wonderful experience here. Both times I’ve gone has been to get advised on breastfeeding & (One prenatal and one postnatal) I almost cried the first time because I was so thankful for everything Megan did to prep me for breastfeeding with my second child. I feel safe and comfortable & like she truly has my baby’s best interest at heart.

If any of you mommas are having pain/difficulty with breastfeeding or have any questions, I'd highly recommend you reach out to Megan Atol at The Motherhood Collective - Tehachapi. We had an appointment with her today and my husband and I learned so much! When we left my daughter called Megan the baby whisperer and rightfully so! She is so incredibly kind and professional and just a wealth of knowledge

I had no idea how much knowledge a lactation consultant has. I learned so much in just one consultation and am 5 months strong in my breastfeeding journey. I also received a Care Plan after my consult to go over everything we spoke about, which I reference often.
